On 19^th of May, we learned about constructive tool. Constructive tool is a general purpose tool that can be used to manipulate information, construct their own knowledge or visualize students understanding.

Some of the constructive tool includes learning management system, concept mapping tools, desktop publisher, Camtasia studio, social networking sites and simulations. Student uses technology tools to connect new information to their prior knowledge.

     There are numerous advantages of using constructive tools such as using technology tools can:

• Enhance learner to build new knowledge construction using technology.
• Allows the learner to brainstorm and visualize the relationship of understanding of concepts.
•  Enhance and fosters learners critical thinking, creates motivation and independent learners
• Encourage to learner to manipulating own ideas and information.
• Encourage learner’s practices of the Drill and practice.
• Showcase or exhibit the learner’s product of using learning resources to world.
• Share your knowledge and ideas to community, society and world.

We also looked at how a teacher can use constructive tool in teaching and learning. We can integrate constructive tool in education by:

• Construction of the simulation lesson using power point in teaching and learning process.
• Desktop publish program to organize and present the ideas in attractive format.
• Create own simple webpage using Google sites and communicate the ideas and share ideas to the world.
• Use of application software such as word, excel, ppt, and constructing effective learning resources in teaching and learning

After the theory session we also did practical session in next one hour. We used PowerPoint as a constructive tool to design a simulation lesson for primary classes. First of all we selected one topic from primary curriculum. We had to insert information related to our chosen topic and the simulation lesson had to be in one slide. We inserted text, images, animation, transition effects and also music to our lesson to make it more attractive and effective. We did according to what we were instructed by our tutor with the step wise step processes.
