Coggle as Co-constructive Tool

Date: 23rd March 2022                           Co-constructive tool

On 23rd of May, we learned about co-constructive tool. Co-constructive tool are the application that supports the construction of knowledge or tangible projects/products through a shared understanding rather than working independently to construct individual knowledge. In co-constructive tool, it involves two or more student to construct the knowledge. Student uses technology tools to share their ideas, work together, co-edit and collaboratively have a discussion through online and real time discussion.

Co-constructive tool has many advantages such as;

  • It enhances learners to construct new knowledge through collaborative work.
  • It encourage to identify and develop expertise through the arguments and discussion, brainstorm together.
  •  It also allows students to co-edit, share ideas and thoughts at the real time discussion.
  • It enhances collaborative learning environment through communicative database, text and graphics.
  • It encourage learners to have high level cognitive processes.
  • It encourages learners to be active and intentional learning through collaborative constructive knowledge.

We can integrate co-constructive tool in our teaching and learning through;

  •  Construction of the ICT lesson planning using Goggle Docs during learning process.
  •   Quick decision making or skeleton overview of the lesson plan using Coggle.it.
  •   Using free online Collaborative tool- “Miro” in teaching and learning process.
  •  Using Goggle slides and Google Sheet for collaboratively learning process.

After the theory session, we also had practical session where we were grouped and given a subject each. We were told to plan a lesson using a Coggle-it as one of the constructive tool. All the group collaboratively worked online and had a real time discussion. We discussed about how we should go about and share our ideas in chat box.

The image below is what the lesson plan that our group have designed using Coglle.it.
