Date: 21st April 2022                     Informative Tool ༼བརྡ་སྤྲོད་པའི་ལག་ཆས༽

On April 21, we learned what is informative tool, its importance and how it in integrated in teaching and learning. Informative tool refers to applications which provide vast repositories of information/ content to learners

There are many benefits of using informative tool such as;

  •     Provide learners to analyze the information, further expand their knowledge and
  •     Skills on learning concepts.
  •    Encourage learner to explore, think critically, develop research skills and learn to
  •      Integrate relevant information.
  •     Enhance the learners critically thinking and develop their searching skills
  •     Provide learner to evaluate the resources (validated) on the internet
  •    Tools to provide raw materials for students to organize, reorganize, compare and construct.

We can integrate informative tool in the classroom by;

  •  Analyze, synthesize and manipulate information provided
  •  Teacher must provide an information/reference/content for the students in the  beginning or during or after the activity
  • Ask the student to construct their own knowledge and meaning
  • Write their understanding on the information provided
Informative tool can comprises of the vast amount of information in various formats such as text, graphics, animation, sound, image and video, etc.

·  Text is a human-readable sequence of characters and the words they form that can be encoded into computer-readable formats such as ASCII. Generally the use of text, learners will enhance the writing skills and communicate the personal experience, expressing the thoughts and ideas to wide community. Texts are created to achieve certain purposes and meaning for example writing a letter, telling a story, sharing information in the classroom.

· Image refer to visual representation of information such as drawings, pictures, graphs, logos, photographs, etc. Generally we can see the image format such as jpeg, bmp, png, gif, etc Images are powerful. Visuals quickly transmit information to our brain. They trigger our emotions. They help us learn and remember.

·    Audio is a term used to describe any sound or noise in a range the human ear is capable of hearing. Audio helps to build imagination and creativity in listeners, improves listening skills and helps strengthen memory and comprehension.

·     Video refers to recording, manipulating, and displaying moving images, especially in a format that can be presented on a television or any channels. Video helps in long retention in memory and understand the concept better through the watching the video clip or video tutorial.

·       Animation is the process of giving the illusion of movement to drawings, models, or inanimate objects.

·       Graphics refer to the combination of the text, image, sound, animation, video ,etc. Graphics promote the visual aids that can better help you communicate your ideas.

Next, we also looked at what is a video-based learning and its benefits. It refers to learning experiences facilitated through video. With its ability to combine camera footage, animation, graphics, text, and audio, videos create a multisensory learning experience, unlike any other e-learning format. It improves learner retention, enables micro learning and makes content widely accessible. At the end of the session, we also did group activity where we had to design activity in google slide from primary class and integrate the informative tool which we have chosen.

The Given below is the power point presentation which we designed in google slide.
